The only change made between the North American and Japanese version is the addition of some newly voiced cutscenes. Square-Enix will also be offering a collector's edition of the game priced at ten dollars more than the regular edition at $59.99 that is only available through pre-order from GameStop and EB Games. It will include:
- Collector's Steel Case
- Bonus DVD containing Japanese and American trailers, in-depth developer interviews, art gallery, and featurettes on the history of the Final Fantasy series.
